@YorkshireMuseum For the last entry in @YorkshireMuseum's weekly #CURATORBATTLE, Red Lake Regional Heritage Centre presents Thunderbird, a Woodland art painting by Norval Morrisseau (1932-2007). Painted in the 1950s, this is one of the Heritage Centre's most significant items. #StarObject

@YorkshireMuseum Our #TremendousTransport is our waterways. There was no road to Red Lake until 1946. Dog teams, horses, tractor trains, barge swings and planes transported people and supplies to Red Lake. In the 1930s, the bay was the busiest airport in the world. @YorkshireMuseum #CuratorBattle

Portages and dog sled teams were the best ways to navigate and travel in Northwestern Ontario until the highway was built in 1946 @YorkshireMuseum
