ASE mourns the passing of a cardiology giant. Eugene Braunwald, MD sadly passed away on April 22, 2026 at 96-years-old.
With a career spanning over seven decades, Dr. Braunwald was one of the most influential figures in the history of cardiovascular care and research.
In 2017, retired Marine staff sergeant Jose Sanchez, who lost part of his left leg in Afghanistan, ran the entire Boston Marathon carrying an American flag!
Thank you for your service 🫡
A deeply powerful moment at the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach. Congressman Brian Mast, who lost both his legs in Afghanistan while serving as a U.S. Army bomb disposal expert, receives a blessing from 101 year old Holocaust Survivor Jack Waksal, two men shaped by the lasting hardships of w@*r.

Kidnapping children is despicable and wholly unjustifiable. For obvious reasons, this picture has hit home with me. May Noya and all hostages taken by Hamas be returned soon, safely, to their families.
Congratulations to my co-authors for "Perspectives in Secondary MR in HF" https://t.co/BITWiDGMc0. Excellent framework for understanding secondary MR in volumetric terms.
@gnewylliw@DrRajeshG1 It would be easier to see if you could slow the loop. Try hitting pause and play rapidly at the later beats that are close together.
Congratulations to @AurigemmaI and team for teaching Insights into the Standard Echocardiographic Views from Multimodality Imaging ... https://t.co/xI4zif5zcx #echofirst@JournalASEcho
@simonateba Is this girl ok?! It doesn’t matter what she did or said. No one should be treated like that. This is so traumatizing for me to watch…I can’t imagine how she felt. How do we get justice and also treatment for those teens for their violence? This is awful on so many levels.
The Children's Heart Foundation is proud to fund the @AmerAcadPeds Pediatric Cardiology Research Fellowship Award.❤ The award represents a tremendous opportunity for junior faculty in pediatric cardiology to gain research experience. https://t.co/YiyAX8OMgd

@laurenboebert I don’t know who either of you are, but I will pray for you both. Consider https://t.co/br50l6K0TH. Divorce doesn’t have to be the only option. Fight for what you believe in despite how things appear or “feel”.
The latest “Echo Magazine” from @ASE360 is now out which includes a lovely tribute to the late Bijoy Khandheria. https://t.co/MBzCODBxOp

Commemorate a remarkable moment in the history of MCPHS with us - we are entering our Bicentennial year!
As we celebrate 200 years of MCPHS, it's a good time to look back on our accomplishments and start planning for the future. Thank you for being a part of our community.
@BrownHospMed These are common in children age 1-10. My son had them on his knees and it was believed to come from swimming at a local pond and catching the virus. I never knew you could get them on the face!!! 😱
