I had a lovely afternoon taking part in the #NewYearPlantHunt in the #DarentValley. I walked up to Fackenden Down, then across to Polhill Bank, taking in both sides of the valley. I managed to find 18 plants in flower, not bad for a very grey New Year's Eve!

I'd forgotten how addictive #WildflowerHour 's #TheWinter10 was!! I managed a Winter24!! All on my local walk in Kent π flower names (to the best of my knowledge) in alt text.
We quite often get this little trio feeding together. I always feel like they are purposely coming together as an identification comparison tool, demonstrating the differences between a Stock dove, a Collared dove and a Wood pigeon!!! #BirdsOfTwitter#Birds#BirdsSeenIn2023
On a walk today on the Kentish North Downs, we noticed these eggs and hatching caterpillars on a vervain seed head/stalk - they were tiny - photo on my Mum's finger for scale! I'd love to know what they'll turn into!! @sophiecooper193 do you know? Or know who to ask??
