Military Explosive Contracts & the AES Explosion

Accurate Energetic Systems (AES) in McEwen, Tennessee received two notable contracts in 2025:
• Contract N0016425PJ538 (Navy / NSWC Crane) – Ordered around April 10, 2025 and needed by August 25, 2025. Awarded April 22, 2025 | Performance May 1 – August 25, 2025 | $440k

The contract explicitly allows additive manufacturing (3D printing) as an acceptable alternative to precise injection molding or machining at the contractor’s discretion, with the government accepting possible deviations in dimensional tolerances as long as assembly can be completed. This is because of the strict timeline. The language indicates this is not a standard off-the-shelf item already in Navy inventory. It is either an early-stage/prototype design or under serious time pressure where speed took priority over traditional precision manufacturing.
The device is described as a small anti-personnel demolition charge meant to be housed inside another unit, with the outer housing needing to fit back together perfectly. The sensitivity category is 1.1D a high-hazard classification typically reserved for mass-casualty potential devices (such as shoulder-fired missiles or large demolition charges). For a relatively small charge to receive this rating suggests it is a specialized design intended to be highly lethal.
• Contract W519TC-25-D-0041 – Awarded September 23, 2025 | ~$119.6 million firm-fixed-price IDIQ for TNT demolition blocks (Army Contracting Command, Rock Island). One bid received. Ordering period into 2030.
October 10, 2025 — Building 602 at the AES facility exploded while workers were producing cast boosters containing solid PETN cores (“top hat” and through-hole PETN pellets) using a melt-pour process with TNT, RDX, and Pentolite mixtures.
16 workers inside Building 602 were killed. Everyone working directly with that material that day is gone. Seven others were injured. Over 23,000–24,600 lbs of explosives detonated. The blast registered as a 1.6 magnitude seismic event.

PETN is the same high explosive used by Israel in its 2024 Hezbollah pager/device operation for remote targeted detonation. AES produces demolition charges, boosters, pellets, and anti-personnel devices. The facility was actively handling PETN in the building that was destroyed.

The $119.6M TNT contract remains active in procurement records with millions already obligated. No public modifications, terminations, or investigations have been announced. Transparency on these munitions contracts and the explosion has been extremely limited.

***The Low-Flying Aircraft Right After the Explosion

In the immediate aftermath of the October 10 AES explosion, a U.S. government aircraft reportedly deviated from its route, flew directly over the facility, dropped low over the blast site, and then climbed away.

Public records requests for basic details including flight logs of the aircraft that flew low over the site have been denied. This remains one of the unanswered questions surrounding the incident.

Flight tracking confirmation: Baron Coleman (Real Baron Podcast) has documented and confirmed through flight data and sources that a plane frequently used by TPUSA people was active at Fort Huachuca around the assassination timeline. This includes activity on/around September 10, 2025 (including evening movements after the event) and further tracking showing the same or related TPUSA-linked plane in Fort Huachuca on October 4, 2025 before heading to Kalispell, Montana.
