I teach Physics and Biology at Brooklyn High School.💙💛 “Biology gives you a brain. Life turns it into a mind”🌸🌳🐷🐁🌿🌞🔬🧬🦠

🐷 Today we said goodbye to our pigs. The students worked hard and took their time in extracting and analyzing organs. A. and I. in Honors Bio could be future surgeons with their patience and determination. 👩🏻‍⚕️

[Jennifer Kunes @JenniferKunes]

🐷 It is pig dissection week! Biology has not done this lab since 2019! Covid Life 😷 I love seeing their engagement and excitement. One of my favorite times of the year!

A little Tug-a-War for Accelerated 8th Grade to get the morning going! They then calculated balanced and unbalanced forces. Team 1 came up on top with 3 victories. Team 2 was short one player, and still was a tough opponent.💪🏻 I stepped in for round 4 for Team 2- Victorious! 🏅

🌸Honors Bio getting out and enjoying some CLE sunshine! Identify abiotic & biotic factors around BHS and explaining how those factors impact the ecosystem.😎

[Jennifer Kunes @JenniferKunes]

Earth and Space Science rockin’ the lab and not taking the inquiry for granite. You didn’t think these were good puns? Of quartz they were! 😆 Someone help me…

8th grade Magnet Exploration! 🧲 It was play time, but definitely encouraged! Loving the inquisitiveness! 🤓

Science Department (those in close proximity!) wearing green for #StartWithHelloWeek

[Jennifer Kunes @JenniferKunes]

BHS is promoting #startwithhello all week. 💚 Suckers passed out by Key Club and ICE block students supporting the cause! So much kindness!! 🤗

Does a change in temperature or pH affect the activity of an enzyme in a 🥔? Ask a Honors Biology student!

[Jennifer Kunes @JenniferKunes]

Honors Bio showing a little competitive spirit. “One, two, three, four, I declare a thumb war!” Figure out those independent/dependent variables! Was your hypothesis correct??👍🏼 #classof2025 #sanitized

[Jennifer Kunes @JenniferKunes]

There was a 💎 stolen last night and Honors 8th grade scientists are using the scientific method to solve the case! So excited to do labs again! 🤓#classof2026

Love it when I show up to my kid’s wrestling practice and I unexpectedly see Brooklyn in a battle with Lutheran West! Great game ladies! 🏀💪🏻

Mr. Holko killin’ “Dress up as your favorite athlete/musician/actor Day”! 💙⚾️❤️‘Forget about the curveball, Ricky. Give him the heater!' Blue and Gold tomorrow!

[Jennifer Kunes @JenniferKunes]

Congratulations to those students that guessed Miss. Kunath and I were twins! Yes, again, my Indians jersey IS 15 years old 🤷🏻‍♀️ Vintage! Happy Twins Day Brooklyn!

[Jennifer Kunes @JenniferKunes]

Twin Day Tomorrow! If you can find my twin, stop by room and tell me who it is... I’ll give you some candy! 🍬 If you are one of my current students, I’ll give you a bonus point! #endofthequarterkindness

Anyone else with a spring in their step this morning after that Brown’s win?!? 🎶Yeah, I’m free, free fallin🎶 in physics class today!! (You know I ❤️to sing!) Lab partners in-class and remote. One BIG happy family! What labs look like in 2020! #freefall #inquiry #makeitwork

💙Spirit Week Themes!💛

[Jennifer Kunes @JenniferKunes]

Science Dept. partying like it is 1994! 🧡🏈🤎Hmm, wait, Miss. Kunath wasn’t even born yet.😳 Well, almost!! Coincidently, I was a HS Biology student that year! Buying @ChrisRoegiers a Browns jersey for Christmas- how long have you lived here?! 🤓
