@GoldfishFibers Swede midges are another gift of climate change. larvae basically destroy the plant at the growing points; broccoli, cauliflower is basically lost when that happens, collards can rebound, and they donโt like kale. The cities are seeing it first because of slightly higher temps.
@GoldfishFibers I am a collard and mustard green enthusiast for this reason. Down with the bolting greens, brassicas forever. Until the Swede midge takes them out ๐ญ
@GoldfishFibers You should totally come! The org I chair is one of them hosting this tour! Lots of cool people will be there! (And even if you canโt make it, I can get you in the loop for emails and such)
@ForrestFleisch1 Iโd say 10 days, personally. If I were still taking classes, it would make me (as a fellow student) feel safer. For those with COVID, it also gets them past the 7-day mark; Iโm still hearing a lot of people say they start feeling better day 5 but get way worse again on day 7/8
@GoldfishFibers My community garden keeps trying them, and peas consistently fail. we have managed lettuce, radishes, turnips, bok choy. Weโve been planting them in raised beds, which I think helps to have the soil temp bump a little before air temps, and using shadier areas for sun protection
@thektrain17 The Walgreens cashier checked my id when I bought benedryl and he said โI mean, I can tell youโre over 18 but we have to checkโฆ.wait, OH WOW did not expect that third decadeโ ๐๐
@MichelleSPhelps Ah yes, super fun health care experiences abound. I went to CVS for my second booster and the pharmacist told me I didnโt qualify because the CDC didnโt list my specific conditions. Went to health partners 10 min later and they were like, โyouโre good, hereโs your poke!โ
