@bmckinney5678@StaceyF2000 We had some great progress after we invited parents in for a few hours. The first part was an interactive ppt where we tried talking with core and gave some suggestions. The second part they got to interact with their kids during choice and writing share. So fun
@StaceyF2000#SISSchat A4 Our team has worked hard to make AAC universal in our school. We provided sensitivity training to all the general Ed classes and have core in all common areas of the building in addition to personal AAC
#SISSchat It helped that our team mapped out the word of the day on a calendar. Sometimes I find it hard to fit several opportunities with that word into my lesson since I am only with the students part of the day.
@StaceyF2000#SISSchat We use Aided Language Input as often as possible. We teach a core word of the day and honor any attempts to communicate using AAC (or any mode!)
@StaceyF2000 Our staff and students use low and high tech AAC ranging from a paper wearable core vocabulary to TobiiDynavox with eye-gaze. Core vocabulary is posted throughout our school.
