Today I attended a patient bleeding from an arterio-venous (AV) fistula. Although it’s not the commonest of calls for ambulance service, it’s the second in 2 months for me. A potentially life threatening bleed and treated as pictured. Tip: A lid from a sample pot (unused) is something which you may have to hand on an ambulance.
