Hi all,
Due staff absence, we have decided to merge tutor groups from Monday. You will now have between 60 and 70 children in your class. Make sure you complete the relevant uniform and equipment checks, take the register and read the announcements in those 10 minutes.
Thanks x
you only have to go into some schools to realise why attendance is low. I suggest visits to ‘real life’ schools/shadow teachers for a term so you get a REAL idea of the issues. @educationgovuk - funding, staffing & resources are diabolical, students neglected because of this 😡
Parents whose children are taking unauthorised absences could be required to participate in attendance awareness training, similar to courses given to speeding motorists, according to a @csjthinktank report

@tes@csjthinktank Some kids don’t skip school because of their parents. They hate it because it’s restrictive, joyless and kills their vibe. Attendance training won’t fix that. If adults hated their workplace, they’d leave. Yet we expect kids to stay and suffer.
📉 Schools should take 'proactive' action to help cut the number of children missing education and locate those at most risk, the government has said

@BGatesIsaPyscho Change it to a creative craft zone for kids/nursery - it would be filled! People in the past had done hard physical shifts and wanted to ‘sit with a pint’ most people now sit all day-Make it instergrammable and people will flock there! crazy golf, table tennis, escape rooms etc.
@HerewoodeAcad yr10 Geographers don’t forget to be in for 8:15 tomorrow for your fieldtrip to Hunstanton! Check the forecast here https://t.co/2B5ClwFo4Y make sure you have water, snacks and any medication you need. 👟🥾👒🧢🎒🍏🍌🥪🍫🚌🌏☀️
A reminder that teachers in the state sector teach *everyone*, from the best to the worst. And we cannot expect them to manage students as chaotic as this with kind words and de-escalation alone. https://t.co/3U28FX1vLB
@dylanwiliam more staff are needed, smaller class sizes and teachers given time for CPD / Curriculum planning and marking which isn’t before/after school/at the weekends. It’s not rocket science. I’d Challenge any1 2spend a week as a class teacher in a state school right now. It’s tough.
