@rab_ag@educator4ever36 Yep. I’ve had parents ask why they even had access to games, AI, etc. We try to block as much as we can but kids get around it and the block doesn’t always work.
@teachthemx3 I have one with over 30 absences and the social worker won’t go after the parents because the mom never came in to sign the attendance agreement…. Well if kid isn’t coming to school neither is mom.
@FParker_77@deaflibertarian Yep awful. They don’t follow directions and don’t respect authority. They think school is only for socializing and that they should be able to do all the work at home where they can cheat. And then they complain about the teacher when they don’t make good grades or learn.
@Ranting95@FixingEducation Not true. In my district they need 4 points to pass. A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1 so that can make an A one quarter and fail the rest and pass the course
@MrDanielBuck And it’s usually “white savior” mentality that’s saying that. Most Black teachers who work with and encounter daily want and expect high standard.
@KatiePMcGrady It’s only 1/2 hr. Maybe it was a reward. Maybe the teacher needed to pull kids for remediation. Maybe it was a rainy day so they missed going outside.
@adamboxer1 I went to a UDL training financed by the state. We all had to go around and say our learning style. I refused and said LS have been debunked. The presenter’s response: “says who?” The American Psychological Society.

It’s time to recognize that schools and educators alone cannot solve all the challenges students face.
