We're going live in about 20 minutes.
This time, pre-orders will ship in 2 weeks or less.
It's hard to describe just how beautiful 1.1mm Glanova glass looks in person.
I also can't wait to hear what you guys think of this balance-control surface.
XA25 pre-orders open Sept 22, 9:00 AM PT.
$169. 500 units. NA / EU / JP.
25 g wired, 8000 Hz, PAW3950 with smoothing and DPI downshift disabled, firmware overhead under 3 μs.
Firmware, PCB, mechanical design, assembly and testing all done in-house.
if you ever end up manufacturing anything yourself, please let me know if you still have the same opinion because i’m genuinely curious if that experience is what alters my consumer sentiment
i see where you’re coming from and i would even agree with you if it were mass produced, but this is literally a hand assembled product by a solo developer
he is likely hardly profiting *before* taking the value of his time into account
if you go to any manu and ask for only 500 units they’re gonna laugh at you and give you unit prices you could cry at
i know you mean well, but i would personally be very hesitant to call a personal project overpriced
i personally would probably feel quite hurt if someone told me my products were overpriced when i’m already subsidizing product prices by not charging extra for my time, because that would almost insinuate my time is with worth *less than* zero
when it’s solo project you’re not just criticizing a faceless company, it’s very easy to take it personally
i think even the m3k price is justified for being a novelty product with small team the m3k is significantly more expensive (over 2x as much)
and xbab is even smaller scale than zaunkoenig!
the xa25 is virtually the same weight as the m3k, with twice the volume, meaning the density is half as much making it redicously expensive
and the xa25 has *side buttons* which is a game changer
he could have easily taxed more for having by far the best latency in the industry right now (look into the marius board and their pricing if you think this seems too much), and he didn’t
@xbabtech is a developer skilled enough to easily be making high 6 figures elsewhere, and yet he’s making mice at near margin (likely working as his own factory worker too) for the love of the game
