We are eager to recruit a talented doctoral course student who wants to explore SMC complexes and chromosome folding at the Karolinska Institutet with us!
I'm happy to announce that the Springer book "Computational Methods for 3D Genome Analysis," is out!🎉 It contains reviews and protocols on various aspects of 3D genome structure analysis. It was an honor to serve as the editor for this work.

I am very honored to receive this year's Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize. All thanks to my amazing team @EKimlab! The award will greatly support our continued work in understanding 3D genome organization.
Our new paper about the structural mechanism by which RAD51 assembles at double-stranded DNA break sites on chromatin has been published in Nature!

Excited to see our @MolecularCell cover illustrating dimers of Smc5/6 recognizing transcription-induced positive supercoiling! Made by Camilla Björkegren.
Health and Sweden-Japan Academic Partnership on March 4th! 🇸🇪🇯🇵
Are you are interested in studying, doing a postdoc or working in Japan, this event is for you.
Swedish researchers and others interested in science and technology in Japan are most welcome to attend the Sweden-Japan Academic Network together with Japanese researchers in Sweden and alumni members of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).
The seminar is organised by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Embassy of Japan in Sweden, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), Stockholm Office and JSPS Alumni Club in Sweden.

The 12th Sweden-Japan Academic Network (SJAN) Seminar is going to be held at KVA in Stockholm on March 4! Join and listen to lectures under the theme of “health”. Please register here: https://t.co/LRl78hTYXd
Our new paper is out @Chromosoma_EB https://t.co/Yzl0dTC65C My Ph.D. students @Aoi_Otsuka_@katsu_s_minami studied chromatin organization/behavior in an oncogenic RAS-transformed mouse cell line. They found nucleosomes are more constrained in the transformed cells. Congrats!(1/2)
The successful candidate will be employed by the University of Tokyo, but mainly work at the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden, within the UTokyo-KI LINK program. The position will include yearly visits to UTokyo, to benefit from both research environment.
I am looking for a talented postdoc to investigate the role of the DNA loop-extruder Smc5/6 in the three-dimensional organization of chromosomes.
