This Juneteenth, I’m thinking of Dr. Opal Lee.
Her life reminds us that freedom is not just something we celebrate, but something we protect and fight for in every generation. Grateful for her courage, wisdom, and legacy.
First black 4 star General in US Military history who flew 179 combat missions in 2 wars for this nation. We all know why Hegseth is doing this and what he’s in the service of. We need to name it in our politics and stop hiding behind polite euphemisms.
He didn't say anything to YOU. Me and Lane actually talked about it at a Win With Black Men/Kamala 2028 fundraiser. He took off his kufi and said "Ole Miss is trying to say they support our people. That's cap. They are a paleo-conservative anti Black institution and I will use my new paleo-conservative anti Black institution to DOMINATE THEM. POWER TO THE PEOPLE.
Then he hit the Dougie
In 1 week, #Louisiana has:
- forced a gutting of the Voting Rights Act
- used the Fifth Circuit court to force a temporary ban nationwide on mail in abortion pills
- canceled our state’s primary
- forced a law to ban a duly elected Black man’s position to be removed
God help us.
Dr. Cerina Fairfax was a dentist. Her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree was from VCU. She owned her own practice. By all accounts, she was well liked and well respected. Please give her her due.

A year ago today, LSU’s star wideout Kyren Lacy took his own life, 2 weeks before the NFL draft. I’ve spent a few months with his friends and family, and reexamining the police records, to try to sort out the legal case he found himself ensnared in https://t.co/vpDDbwlwCP
Picked such an iconic photo for a historical subject we don't talk enough about! The history of the Black caddies at the Masters is a deep one; for almost 50 years, only Black men caddied at the Masters. The hat you created deserves to be seen and is a cool piece to own, for those who love the sport.
The folks over at Lucy Craft Laney Museum in Augusta, should see this one.
Wishing everyone a blessed and joyful Easter. Today, we celebrate the hope, renewal, and promise this season brings. I’m grateful to be spending Easter at St. Luke UMC and wishing peace and blessings to you and your family.
Happy Resurrection Sunday to all those celebrating. May this Easter remind us all of the promise of renewal, the power of faith, and the enduring hope that carries us through even the most challenging moments. Wishing you and your loved ones peace, joy, and quality time together.
When you’re really proud of an executive action and are very confident it will stand up against embarrassing legal challenges, you naturally announce that policy after 5 PM on Good Friday

“It gets dark sometimes
But the morning comes
Suffering breeds character
Character breeds faith
In the end, faith will not disappoint…
We must never surrender!
Keep hope alive.”
