@cpokane@netflix@amazon Hulu, Sling, Direct TV, YouTube TV aren’t going away any time soon. Netflix is trying to lessen its reliance on licensing w/ originals as content owners erect walls (Peacock). CTV programmatic will fuel the walled gardens and cord-cutting services for a while.
@cpokane@netflix@amazon Amazon isn’t hoovering up what you view and advertising to you? NBC’s model w/ Peacock is doing well with tons of content from the vault and live sport (my EPL fix) for “free” or pay for no ads. And then sport / live events which you don’t timeshift.
Blogger Dave Stirckson has been maintaining an up to date list of the BBC 1 Peel Sessions with almost 1,000 linked to. Take a trip back in time to when these were "new" artists! https://t.co/L7OzIESYG5
@vinnyflood All of this is rather easy. Getting Big AdTech to step out of their bubble and do it is the challenge. I’m surprised @GMktgPlatform hasn’t done anything like this yet because it’s free positive PR for them!
@vinnyflood I don’t know if it’s in the code anymore. Here’s what to do: G reaches out to the philanthropic orgs and solicits the ads in each country (local health orgs for example). Pubs can choose from the pool and traffick accordingly.
This shouldn’t be big news. What is news is that it took so long after their failed attempt with Sony. Wait until G can leverage Teracent (acquired in ‘09) to deliver bespoke video assets using the telco data. This is where TTD should be worried. https://t.co/QnTIiaNh5v
I thought yesterday was Throw Rudy Under the Bus Day at the hearings, but now Sondland shows up and says “Hold my beer and give me the keys to the bus!”
Excellent letter from Sen @MarkWarner to Mark Zuckerberg regarding @Facebook policy on political ads. The Honest Ads Act and CCPA should become federal law.
Facebook’s new ads policy allows politicians to run demonstrably false advertising on its platform. I don’t think that’s right.
Last night, I sent a letter to Mark Zuckerberg calling on @Facebook to reverse this decision.
@SRuhle Your piece on Trump campaign data mining thru merch sales is a non-story story and IMHO, designed to stoke fear in the hearts of Dems. Dems are doing the same thing, only difference is 18 separate candidate databases + separate DNC data vs Trump & RNC’s single database
Capping off an EPIC day of live music, an exceptional lyricist and multi-instrumentalist I have seen almost too many times to count across 4 countries including 3 US states + D.C. - Elvis Costello! Tremendous. Best I’ve seen him in years!!#XPNfest
And she brought the faux Presidential seal with the double headed eagle clutching money and a set of golf clubs during her encore with From Russia With Love!
