🎓 Adjunct Professor @SciencesPo Paris School of International Affairs, President @CIRSD, former President @UN General Assembly, Senior Advisor @EurasiaGroup
It was an extraordinary privilege to teach for the second consecutive year at the renowned Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs @PSIASciencesPo, one of the best schools in the world.
My graduate course “OADI 2325: Introduction to Contemporary Geopolitics - A Practitioner’s View” addressed over 24 lectures some of the most pressing global issues of today.
Students also had a chance to learn how to compose professional policy and decision making memos, as well as how diplomatic negotiations, campaigns and elections in the UN and other international organizations are conducted in reality.
It was a pleasure working with such astonishingly smart and dedicated young people from around the world. They will always be able to count on my support and guidance, if they ever need it!

These topics will be discussed by:

From Serbia to the world.
For the past 12 years, the Belgrade-based Horizons — Journal of International Relations and Sustainable Development — has brought together some of the world’s leading thinkers and decision-makers, creating a unique space for uncensored dialogue on politics, economics, technology, diplomacy and the future of the global order.
Wonderful to reconnect with my old friend K. Shanmugam @kshanmugam, Singapore’s Minister for Home Affairs and Law and former Foreign Minister, with whom I had the privilege of serving during our years in diplomacy.
Some friendships pick up exactly where they left off, no matter how much time has passed or how much the world has changed.
Welcoming him in Belgrade, at long last!

AI is sold as weightless code. It is, in fact, one of the most physically ravenous technologies ever built, consuming the electricity of Japan today and on track to double that by 2030. It draws on cobalt from the Congo, chips from Taiwan, and discards its waste in Ghana. Silvana Koch-Mehrin, Founder and President of Women Political Leaders, argues that between America’s tech oligarchy and China’s state control, Europe is the only actor treating AI as the infrastructure it actually is. The future of AI’s environmental footprint, she contends, will not be decided in Silicon Valley or Beijing, but in Brussels.
The process of selecting the next Secretary General of the @UN is about to unfold. Last month, @ColumbiaIGP welcomed @jeremic_vuk to lead a simulation of the UNSG election with our Student Scholars. Jeremić is president of the 67th session of the UN General Assembly and a former candidate for secretary-general.
The simulation recreated the rules and procedures that will soon take place at United Nations Headquarters. Students either role-played candidates or representatives from UNSC member states. Each participant was provided with candidate profiles, as well as a confidential briefing package outlining their assigned member state’s position.
After repeated rounds of voting and discussions between the P5 and the candidates, a secretary-general was ultimately elected: María Fernanda Espinosa, a former president of the UN General Assembly, with 13 votes in favor, two abstentions, and no votes against.
A decade ago, China made generics and copies. Today, Pfizer's CEO Albert Bourla warns that "every drug could be made in China," U.S. firms are signing record-shattering licensing deals with Chinese biotechs, and a single Chinese antibody has beaten Keytruda head-to-head in a Phase 3 trial. Yanzhong Huang, Senior Fellow for Global Health at the Council on Foreign Relations, traces how a state-orchestrated regulatory overhaul, a 1.4-billion-person clinical trial advantage, and the sheer scale of biotech parks like Suzhou's BioBAY rewrote the global pharmaceutical map. The harder question is whether Washington's tariff-and-restrict response is protecting American leadership or accelerating its decline.
