“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Mt 5:3).
This is the great inversion. The kingdom of God doesn’t belong to the spiritually impressive. Rather, it belongs to the spiritually bankrupt, who know they’re bankrupt.
Built to last,
Not just bright for a moment,
But deeply rooted in Your presence.
And when the years keep moving faster,
Let my life still carry fruit,

None of These Things Move Me
“But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.”

As John Swinton paraphrases Wadell:
“Jesus tells us to love our enemies, not necessarily to live with them, and certainly never to allow them to destroy us.”

Jesus commanded us to love our enemies. He never commanded us to surrender discernment, abandon boundaries, or permit destruction in the name of “niceness.”
