Simón Bolívar (1783-1830), El Libertador, lived in this house when he came to #London in 1810. An inspired military and political leader, he led countries that are today Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Venezuela to independence.

Bernardo O'Higgins spent his later school years in Richmond in SW London. Son of a Viceroy of #Peru, he fought against Spanish rule and went on to become Supreme Director of #Chile when it proclaimed itself an independent republic in 1818.
