Winter Weather update: @DominionEnergy is making final preparations for significant and widespread power outages from heavy ice and snow accumulation across Virginia and northeastern North Carolina beginning Sunday afternoon and into early Monday morning.
Our customers should be prepared for a gradual restoration. Ice will cause extensive damage to power lines and poles. Icy road conditions and blocked roads from fallen trees will make some areas difficult to reach, potentially for 24-48 hours.
Plan accordingly and be prepared. Download the Dominion Energy mobile app as the easiest way to report outages and track restoration. Fully charge devices before the storm and prepare food, water and emergency supplies.

This has the potential to be a severe storm and multi-day power restoration effort. Heavy ice accumulation, severe damage to trees and power lines, and difficult travel conditions could prolong the power restoration effort over multiple days.
More power outages are likely today and into Thursday morning as wet snow/freezing rain continue to accumulate on trees and power lines. There remains the potential for a multi-day power restoration effort due to the long duration of the storm and areas with heavier accumulation.
