Patriarchy shields men from accountability, and this aversion to acknowledging what toxic masculinity is (aspects of masculine socialization that are harfmul to others and men themselves) is, IMO, another way to tip-toe around the problem. #masculinity

It's political theatre from Governor Abott to blame democrats breaking quorom for the inability to send flood relief. He doesn't need legislative approval, just like he didn't need it in '21 when he released $250 million for the border wall. #txlege

If I said, someone was engaging in "toxic behavior" (dishonesty, passive-aggressiveness, etc.) you would understand that I am not insinuating or implying that all behavior is toxic. In the same way, calling attention to toxic masculinity is not saying masculinity is toxic.
