I was born into trauma and lacked a typical family dynamic, but God gifted me with exceptional awareness that I was extremely aware of at a young age. I was picked on as a kid, laughed at a lot, and went through many negative things that were far out of my control, but I embraced the positive things I saw people do to make someone else smile. And I realized I wanted to take that route. The moment I took accountability for my troublesome environment and realized over time that I was becoming emotionally mature in certain areas of my life at a young age to avoid things that would put me in trouble.. I knew I was on my way! …
why am I talking about this?
Everybody wants healing but doesn't want to be accountable. A fragile mind will label accountability as abuse. A fragile mind will label discomfort as harmful. Do you know that being accountable and facing discomfort head on is what builds resilience? Being emotionally mature is not learned overnight, but I do believe we are all aware of ourselves, no matter how hard you try to fight the truth. It's on you to be Great. This a reminder to myself and a message for whoever needs to hear it🌹 🙏🏿
Dejounte Murray says Gregg Popovich tried to use his own money to move Dejounte’s mom to San Antonio after finding out she had been shot
“It was so crazy—a lot of my people don’t even know this. From family, friends, and the penitentiary… Pop didn’t want me to go to Seattle. When I first got drafted, I wouldn’t go to Seattle. And that was a man who cared about me. That was a man who wanted me to reach my full potential in life first—then as a basketball player. He’s so real. He tried to move my mom to San Antonio with his own money after she got shot. My mom was shot in the leg my rookie year. He called her himself—without me knowing until after the fact. ‘We want to move you here. No—not with his money, with my money.’ That sounds like a dude that cares about me and loves me, right?”
