@ProfByron You're right, he answers well. But why were Jordan and his fans (and the people putting the captions on the clip) so upset about Helen putting her arguments forward in a reasonable and articulate way. Have you read the comments under the whole interview? Anger and defensiveness.
This morning the Islamic Republic announced the execution of three more protesters: #Mehdi_Rasouli#MohammadReza_Miri and #Ebrahim_Dolatabadi who were arrested during December protests in Mashhad and sentenced to death after sham trials.
If the international community does not respond to this grave injustice soon there’s a serious risk of hundreds of executions in the coming weeks as the regime expedites the killings of their own people as a deterrent to another (imminent) uprising.
@rcbregman You could try thanking the BBC for airing your lectures instead of this persistent negativity. You keep projecting yourself as censored martyr? It's unnecessary. I enjoyed the lectures. Since we all know that Trump is the most openly corrupt President, why promote your weak line?
@MichaelLCrick When I was at Manchester University I missed the bus taking students to Old Trafford. Phil, who I didn't know, kindly gave me a lift all the way there (in time to see Bryan Robson signing on the pitch). What a gent.
@mtpennycook Fair enough (he sounded like he was chatting to a friend and not a journalist, so that's a crime in today's politics). But on his point about the collapse in house building, especially in London, and the safety trade-offs that followed Grenfell.. he's right isn't he?
@FraserNelson@JonathanBlay11 Fraser, can you point to someone you hired in the same way from a poorer household (who might have left a comprehensive school at 16), and who is succeeding as well as Mimi? (if you can't, that's fair enough, I was just wondering who you meant by 'another')
@ElaineCox11 So presumably you would welcome high density building, like in the lovely historic towns we enjoy visiting, rather than inefficient places full of semi-detached homes and an assumption of car driving?
To most economists this is just obvious common sense. Good to see more evidence confirming it. The answer is just build more housing. Squeezing total supply in name of more “affordable housing” is just counterproductive.
I am a Ukrainian Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. I have a question.
Why has Trump's year of negotiations been the deadliest for civilians in Ukraine since the full-scale invasion? The number of deaths and injuries has increased by 31 percent compared to the previous year.
Why did Putin not allow himself such brutal strikes on civilian infrastructure under Biden, whom Trump calls “weak,” but totally destroys peaceful cities and disregards the “strong Trump”?
