@michaelmalice I don't know if CHAZ/CHOP can be considered "trying." They were very much dependent on the Seattle government and businesses from the surrounding neighborhoods. They set down a tarp before planting their crops. They clearly weren't planning on staying.
I think he knows deep down that he's either out of his league, or doesn't have a full understanding of the anarchist perspective, so he's hoping that mocking a straw man will work as a Hail Mary.
It's possible he hasn't considered that anarchism can look more like SpaceX and Tesla than like the blacksmith at Colonial Williamsburg.
@JoelWBerry The America Second Right
They can say "America First" until they're blue in the face, but everyone knows there are a few identitarian priorities that come before country or American ideals for these people.
@billroach_@jordanbpeterson@ConceptualJames It's not woke left or woke right, it's just woke. The only difference is which set of ethnic groups they hate, and which words they use. Same exact ideology (authoritarian collectivism) and motives ("everyone should be just like me").
Private property means Portnoy can choose to publicize anything that goes on in his bar. The student already outed himself anyway by uploading the video to Instagram. Even named his buddy in the captioning to get him in trouble as well. Temple is a private university and can suspend or expel him if they want. There's nothing insane about any of that. No one's arresting Mo for speech or anything. They're rightfully deciding whether they want to associate with him. How does a Libertarian not grasp that?
1. Money flex
2. Doesn't want to be in the same country as these guys for a while
3. Being inside the actual camp, instead of an air-conditioned museum, might be more impactful
4. Better message than publicly shaming and ranting
5. Portnoy will be judged no matter what, so whatevs

@michaelmalice Reminds me that, leading up to the 2024 election, Fox News was gloating that Trump's campaign was "winning" in its number of live press conferences, compared with Kamala's. They actually instructed their writers to waste time reporting on that.
