My book called “Fantasy, Neoliberalism and Precariousness” (Emerald) is now available. Looking at gender and class, I ask, among other things, “what is the psychosocial impact of precariousness on the self?”. People cope with it, yes, but what is the human cost of it?
I've just published an article in The Sociological Review on anxiety as being triggered by social structural conditions, e.g. precariousness faced by musicians in the music industries. Emotions are cultural realities not ‘just’ idiosyncrasies.

I've just published an article in English and in French in the academic journal Biens Symboliques / Symbolic Goods about how class, gender, sex and race influence the way people ‘make a career’ in music - and female musician cope with it.

@poniewozik Thank you for the interesting talk James... A very much needed discussion on the moral responsibility of audiovisual productions. Good to hear such reflexivity among the industry. And I meant to write 'its' and not 'it's' and 'grasping' not 'entailing' in the original Tweet.
« How series are shaping tomorrow’s society » panel @SeriesManiaPro is entailing quite nicely how things are not as systematic… A kind of “yes but…” answer. Great to see that. Comm studies have been very much into that since it’s birth.
My book on music and the psychosocial impact of neoliberalism has just been released in its digital form. The introduction is available to read. Thank you to all of those who helped during the writing of this book. 🤗
