@SanderSkjegstad @LeaVerou @awesomekling Grammatically, in English, they is the proper word to use when the gender is unknown. “It” has previously been used, but no longer as it is dehumanizing (ie used for objects, not people). Proper English is hard, but it changes with the times & always has.
