I think a big reason why this Malfoid trend is so popular is because gender relations are at an all time low so this enemies to lovers trope of a boy and a girl getting over their differences and realizing they're stronger together and falling in love is hitting too close to home
I wake up, Malfoid.
I open my phone, Malfoid.
I make coffee, Malfoid.
I get ready for work, Malfoid.
I do my shift, Malfoid.
I get home, Malfoid.
I eat dinner, Malfoid.
I get on computer, Malfoid.
I get ready for bed, Malfoid.
I go to bed, Malfoid.
I wake up, Malfoid.
Malfoy never had much bite within the story because he was ineffectual and never actually bullied Harry very hard, it didn't help that he was kinda used as a coward to contrast Harry's heroic nature.
That all works so much better when it's a girl because it's all desireable traits: Instead of being a limp-wristed bully, it's obviously just a tsundere mean girl who's jealous of Harry's friends. Instead of being a weak coward, she's a cute girl who's out of her depth and that gives Harry an opportunity to build the romance by helping her be brave.
Malfoy freaking out in the forest goes from being a lame moment to being really cute.
I would like to make a deeply heartfelt apology to all the annoying draco fangirls of the past who were bombarding everyone with their fanfictitons and "i can fix him" blogs. I see now the error of my ways and completely understand what yall were fainting over
The more I see this stuff the more I realise how badly Rowling fumbled her own lifes work. Had she gone through with fem malfoy her books/movies would've legit surpassed star wars in its popularity
In the end, Malfoid and Harry team up to defeat Voldemort.
In the original books, it was kinda gay because it was essentially wizard semantics that defeated Voldemort, he used the Elder Wand and his killing curse rebounded off of Harry and killed him.
In this case it'd actually work better because it'd be narrative mirroring: The power of love is what killed voldemort for the first time, the power of the love of a mother, and now the power of pure love between two life-long rivals is what kills Voldemort for good.
And then Harry and Malfoid have 9 babies and live happily ever after.
looking at an analysis of a story after finishing it and realizing you didnt pick up on half of the symbolism and character motivations and lore feels like this
I think what makes this story more depressing & alarming than him being an “American Idol alum” is that Caleb Flynn was a worship pastor.
And despite having a wife & two children, something many men long for, Flynn decided he wanted more than what God gave him.
He started having an affair with a woman at his church. Text messages show that they became obsessed with each other, & Flynn began to despise his wife.
But despite hating his wife, Flynn refused to divorce her because he didn’t want to lose his kids, his reputation, nor his job (his father-in-law gave him a job working for him). But his affair partner would not keep seeing him unless they divorced, so he decided to murder his wife.
It’s a devastating reminder of what sin takes from us. Caleb went from lust, to betrayal, to adultery, to murder.
And now his wife is dead. His children are without both parents. His affair partner has been exposed and her life is ruined. And of course, Caleb ruined his own life.
“Sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.”
"That’s right VIN! I have evidence of YOU being a groomer, and there’s nothing you can do about it!"
*Calls his Lawyer*
"N-NO WAIT!!! IT WAS ALL A FAKE!! PLEASE DONT MAKE ME GO TO COURT!!
So the more I think about it, the more I am certain Malfoy should have just straight up been a girl. It's too thematically perfect. Like, come ON. Ripe for drama and theory making. Imagine if you had learned this in the book version with Malfoid. It would have been insane. (1/2)
