John called the oath "corny" in the comic where he made his very first appearance. He was created and written as an anti-authoritarian. He always chose his own path that's why his character development was one of my favorit thing to see in Lanterns.
They burnt half a scene establishing Guy KNEW he was second choice because the Guardians determined John would be the superior Green Lantern, and you guys still missed it. SMH
S2 of Lanterns will play out exactly like this. Hal's body has disappeared. John will go to Sinestro, who took the body, but will spend half the season being run around by him. Hal will appear alive in various moments and it will be revealed Sinestro brought him back (1/2)
It's going to be so hilarious watching John in Man of Tomorrow wearing his suit with all the wild constructs and then in season 2 of Lanterns he is stuck in a leather jacket exploring another bumfuck town while referencing all the cool Green Lantern shit he does off screen
My landlord said, “Rent must be paid on the 5th.” My Gen Z neighbour nodded and said, “Understood.” On the 5th, the landlord texted him at 8 AM asking for the rent. He replied, “The day has 24 hours.” The landlord thought he was joking. By noon...
He stated during most of the show (Verbally and with actions) that he cared and loved his family, including his father and mother. But didn't forgive them. His last speech to Kerry shows that he already forgave them, doesn't change the past, but does not want to live like Hal. Another reason why Earl is in the same house with people he can trust when he is not there.
A path that not many would have taken (me included) but he decided to take, so valid in a sense, a personal choice
He made the lantern for a GREEN ring. Focus:
1. Sinestro has the ability to forge lantern tech. But because fear was involved it created cracks.
2. He got dipped in the fear water and now probably will use that fear of whatever he saw, to create a complete fear driven lantern.
