@2D0XPS @CyrilDash I very much enjoyed looking into the change of the wording used over the centuries. Iirc, it moved from "I subscribe [to the articles]" to "I assent to..." and the modern "I affirm..." though the latter wording suggests more of an appreciation than active belief
