It's finally official, I'll be starting a new job 1st of July. Somewhat sad to leave a place I've enjoyed working at a lot, but very excited about my future role! Expect to see some more involvement from me in open source projects in the future :).

The last couple of evenings I've been trying to help someone who fell victim to a 'crypto investment' scam. In short: she clicked a fake ad on Facebook which looked like it came from a well known Dutch newspaper and, thinking it legitimate, acted on it.

The woman in question is fairly young, she got bullied into believing the scammers when they made things look and sound legitimate. I've been asking myself how we can do better in preventing this type of scams from succeeding.

Tip: if you have old (organisational) domains used for email accounts, make sure to keep it registered for yourself. If you don’t, decommission all associated accounts after losing it to avoid abuse / account takeover. This includes accounts for important third part services.
