#antisemite ALERT🚨 "@Hopkins_Alison"
Veiled antisemitism below! She blocked me when she saw the facts.
Whatever the source, from my knowledge of the building (former tenant of 3 yrs) that the fire originated in SVS Productions (Jewish owned business) 🤷♂️

Antisemite alert! 🚨🚨🚨🚨
Enjoys taking words out of context to spin her own veiled antisemitic narrative!
She lives in the area, yes, but she's an antisemite nonetheless!
@Hopkins_Alison But yes, many will be suffering from this fire which is the biggest tragedy of all. I wish everyone involved well and hope that they are able to recover as swiftly as possible.
@Hopkins_Alison DT may be creating a narrative but as someone who worked in that building I can tell you 100% the unit the fire started in is a Jewish-owned business. That's a fact whether there was motivation behind it or not. Your attempts to wash that away is pure veiled antisemitism.
@w9maidavale@bluebean76 Thanks Geoff. What's your position in case I've missed anything? Concerned for what comes next and for the overall/future vision for the Oxford Street zone (M'fair, M'bone, f'rovia, soho, TCR)? It's looking messy to me but sort of already is.
@bluebean76@w9maidavale Time for my u-turn - I agree. Unfortunately doesn't change the lunacy of the scheme. Shame he didn't have the foresight - intentional or not. Will only create more of a mess now with the money spent and forcefulness of MDC.
@bluebean76@w9maidavale Exactly! The scheme is so broken and skewed to what they want rather than what is viable and the economic reality of the area. Especially having created the MDC with support from their cronies specifically to push this and other schemes through without opposition.
@w9maidavale Political grandstanding IS calling it a u-turn. Not pursuing legal action (because they can't) doesn't necessarily constitute a u-turn. They are still progressing with opposition which is extremely necessary & still acting in their own voters' best interests in doing so
@w9maidavale@CityWestminster Not disagreeing but perhaps a break from construction & roadworks (unless necessary & non-corrupt) might improve quality of life just a tad for Londoners. Maybe that should be the initiative considering what we're all going through since Covid/Ukraine/Gaza/Iran? Let us live.
@w9maidavale Instead of worrying about this particular artery which happens to connect Marble Arch to T'ham Ct Rd why don't we think about improving conditions for business on local high streets? Tell me what businesses in Oxford St are to benefit from outdoor seating & pedestrianisation?
@blisswords@w9maidavale Should have been the other way round. More of us affected by cyclists every day than the odd rickshaw which is very much a Central London issue at best. They won't touch cyclists, they're golden. Long overdue either way.
@LBC@RachelReevesMP You're pathetic. How about listening to hospitality business owners and operators for a change? Running costs are TOO HIGH. PLEASE HELP. END OF.
Does @RachelReevesMP understand how small a f&b business premises needs to be to apply for small business rates relief? Especially when the goalposts keep being moved...? Not to mention VAT and ever shrinking margins which are killing hospitality businesses.
'Over time, that support has to be tapered away.'
Rachel Reeves defends the government's decision to exclude cafes and hotels in the support package for pubs and music venues.
