Water molecules are attracted to each other as well as other things! Sixth graders learn that they can make staples and sometimes paper clips “float” because of surface tension caused by cohesion and adhesion of water molecules. @TaylorMSTigers@FCPS1Science
@TaylorMSTigers sixth grade science students had a “shocking” lesson about electrons today when we found out we can use friction to borrow electrons from a surface and send it through a line of people touching fingers! @FCPS1Science#chemistry#scienceisallaroundus
Sixth grade engineers design and improve aluminum foil boats to hold maximum weight while they learn about mass, volume, density, displacement, and buoyancy to kick off our matter unit! So far the record exceeds 9 lbs on 1 and 1/2 ft of foil! @TaylorMSTigers@FCPS1Science
