Computer science is foundational for every student, as a basic part of curriculum, just like algebra, biology, or social studies. Many education systems are integrating CS into other subjects, so students can learn coding with math, or data science with social studies. This is a great way to recognize that CS is foundational in ALL subjects in academia and industry. But it isn’t a substitute for learning a basic CS course as part of a well-rounded education.
