@BBG17_JDSSURUGA Is it just me or is the superstructure design a little weird? It doesn’t really look like the traditional DDG face.
I was thinking it would be cool if they made it similar to the Asahi/Akizuki-class ships, they have always looked strangely nice in my opinion.
@gavin__official@H8KUcom@LaikaYaps increasing m increases g. increasing r decreases g. when you double the r, all other things the same, g is 1/4. typically a m-earth = 2 planet wold have r-earth ≈ 1.2, making gravity slightly bigger.
@joshuam01045160@JoshJCCheng@NZ_Trav The flag looks Australian because the stars aren’t red. It’s exiting a NZ port. Typically they’d fly a NZ flag when in a NZ port. The only other national flag is the Japanese naval flag, all the others are signal flags.
@BBG17_JDSSURUGA The problem isn’t really the navy, it’s congress. Congress seems to think that designing a ship shouldn’t cost money, and that regardless of changes in the economy and naval advancements, ship costs shouldn’t change. Because of that, the navy is choked out in design and advances.
@heuhen@BBG17_JDSSURUGA DDG(X) is the right idea. It’s smaller than a CG should be, but the program could easily be turned into a CG(X) or CSG(X). A true Arleigh Burke replacement should be split between a cruiser and a smaller destroyer
@BBG17_JDSSURUGA the sentiment is that 81, 82, and 83 are all poor names. i think people want us to move away from presidents and back to names similar to the ones used in the mid-19th century, like the essex class lineup.
@trad_west_ as a protestant, i don’t get this. where in the bible does it say to elevate mary above any other human like this? not trying to fight you, i just want to know your side.
@BBG17_JDSSURUGA Maybe us Americans can sell you some of our old Nimitz-class hulls when they’re done, it would be pretty cool to see Japan operating nuclear super carriers.
@MarioNawfal some people have no concept of this program and it shows. the first ~2 vessels of the class were test beds. their short lifespan was to be expected. the remaining vessels are perfectly fine. the only regret about them is that they were not given mission package capabilities.
@BBG17_JDSSURUGA USS Nimitz CVN~87? sounds nice, i personally want us to use older naming conventions, with a class lineup like Gerald R. Ford, John F. Kennedy, Enterprise, Hornet, Lexington, Saratoga, Reprisal, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Yorktown, and John Adams. That’s my own head cannon at least.
