@Brotherola@adetorodanielX You can have the gifts and not bear the fruits. The gifts are gifted. You work consciously with the help of the HolySpirit to bear the fruits.
@seraphriseup@m_eyit That is exactly the point. We are looking at it in the context of the old testament. In the new testament, Jesus Christ is our eternal life. God bless.
@Oganaprecious2@seraphriseup@m_eyit The word "image" in Hebrew is "tselem" meaning resemblance as in figure. It has nothing to do with eternal life. If Adam hadn't eaten the from the tree, there is possibility that he may live and may not. The bible was not explicit about his longevity.
@stanley202@m_eyit Your position is wrong because it can't be substantiated by any biblical reference. The only thing Adam lost was his relationship with God. He was separated from God. The statement you quoted was not literal death. It was separation. That was what Christ restored on the cross.
@stanley202@m_eyit Then they shouldn't have to die even if they were corrupted. Since they were designed to live forever. Or are you suggesting their eternity was taken away after they ate from the tree?
@stanley202@m_eyit Yes they could have but they didn't. The bible was not explicit about why God put the tree in the midst of the garden. You also have to note that the garden of Eden was not just a small portion of land. And the the location of residence of Adam in the garden was not stated.
@stanley202@m_eyit The breathe of God into Adam nostrils was the breathe of consciousness. Adam became aware of himself the moment God breathe into him. That breathe did not signify an eternal life. That was a process to begin the natural life on earth. He had a life that could end.
@seraphriseup@m_eyit I dont agree with you respectfully. Gen 3: 22 answers your question in the considered context. The tree of life served a purpose in the garden. It was a tree of eternal life. Gen 3:22 was very clear. Thank you
@stanley202@m_eyit Apologies for the wrong verse. Gen 3: 22 was clear. God said if Adam ate from the tree of life, he would live forever. That shows the relationship between eternal life and the tree of life. Thank you.
