@maxfawcett@Frazzling It has never occurred to me to doubt the fairness of our elections before, but when I stepped up to get my ballot, I asked for a pen to mark my ballot. The thought that triggered the ask, “we are in Alberta”.
On Friday, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health finally issues a statement urging Albertans to get vaccinated in the face of a measles outbreak. On Monday, he’s out of a job. We are truly being governed by the Convoy Crowd. Alberta has become a Trumpian dystopia. #ElbowsUp
@ArccosGolf Considering buying the Arccos Smart Sensors, however the course I play the majority of golf on has a lot of elevation change. Will I be able to get an accurate/useful data on my average club distances? Thanks
.@PierrePoilievre will do a dance on your child’s coffin if it means scoring a political point. ⚰️
This is the ugliest form of politics that Canada has ever seen.

There will come a day – it might be as soon as January it might be later – when the Trump administration will make the momentous decision to ignore a court order. They will be excited, they will be nervous, they will be sick to their stomachs. But once it is done, and they have gotten away with it, there will be no turning back. That will mark their decisive break with the rule of law. Everything else will follow from that. Too late, their opponents will realize the courts can’t save them.
After being silenced by the Conservative Deputy Speaker for over 6 months because Conservative MPs didn’t like what I had to say, I rose in the House of Commons today to continue what I was saying on March 20th before being censored.
As I was saying…
In Canada and around the world we have seen the emergence of radical far-right movements.
They have had a profound impact the types of governments that have taken power and on the lives of people around the world including here in Canada.
They have:
· Organized disinformation campaigns designed to defame people, create division and undermine confidence in reliable sources of information.
· They have impacted how some people treat others.
· They have impacted how some politicians treat others, including here in Canada.
· They have led to some politicians acting against the best interests of Canadians by opposing sound economic policies, by opposing sound social policies, like Dental Care, child care and better long-term care; by undermining fundamental rights - like those protected in our Charter, women’s rights and a woman’s right to choose; and by opposing measures to stand up to aggressors like Russia.
I urge us to take actions together to stop the growing influence of these radical far-right movements, because doing so is essential to protect Canada’s security, our economy and our freedom.
This is an excellent idea to fix primary care. Coupled with teams and reformed payment model it would work.
Just imagine. Education and healthcare for every child(person).
Just imagine a just society with government doing what they are supposed to - and we pay for.
@JMeddings I really appreciate the “systems” perspective. A bit scary that the decision makers seem to be ignoring it. I can think of a few reasons why, none of which are appealing.
This is pretty crazy. Obviously it is not supposed to work this way. A short thread...
AB healthcare is organized (or was) along a continuum.
There was an expectation that people would be able to access general healthcare locally. We call that primary care. /1
