Every few months, some ER doctor goes viral for saying you need to take it very seriously when a male patient says his wife made him come in, and I'm infuriated that women are considered reliable ONLY when they're saying a man needs care, but not when she needs care herself. 🙃

@ViPutrament ...a bit different too in kidlit because for BB and PB it's standard to send 3-5 manuscripts, and CB are pitched as a series, so you're automatically giving multiple ideas as soon as you get a full request. But I do understand why you are wary. It's a scary world for creators!
