#querystatus: I took time off from sm this summer in part to catch on outstanding queries. I'm happy to say I've responded to all queries, and have just 8 subs left to decide on (3 in QM/5 via email). I don't know yet if I will reopen to queries, but at least I'm making progress!
#querystatus: I feel like this is taking too long, but I started with 300+ in March, so I'm doing okay. The most important thing to me is that everyone got a personalized reply (unique enough at least to zero in on why I passed). Will have deets on Query Unrequited workshop soon!
#querystatus: I've read ~100/300 queries. I'm rejecting more this time for lack of versatility. Remember: if you only write in one age group/genre, please experiment and build your skills in other areas before you query me. I really want to work with versatile creators. Why?๐งต
#querystatus: And just like that, I've reached sub zero...submission inbox zero that is. On to the 300 unread queries in my inbox. Love these nice round numbers!
#querystatus: I have just ONE full left to read from my original Oct/Nov query pile. I don't know if that author is watching, but if you are, know I haven't forgotten about you. I'm reading your YA contemporary right now. :-)
Then, I will read March queries and requested subs.
#querystatus: That was fast, all. I'm going to have to close my query inbox. Thank you so much for your interest and trusting me with your work. I will get back to everyone as quickly as I can!
#querystatus: I'm at ~280 now!
#querystatus: I've been open to queries for 1 WEEK and I already have ~240! Once I hit 300, I'm going to have to close my inbox. It took 5 months to get through 500 queries last time, so I don't want the pile to get too high. Get those queries in #amquerying #kitlit #writers.

I've updated my QM page. I'm still closed to queries, but I've included details on what I'll be looking for so that you can prepare in advance (if you're the preparing type). #querystatus #mswl https://t.co/v6f448yjMn
And just like that, I've reached query inbox ZERO! #querystatus. I've responded to every query I've received, most of them personalized. I still have requested submissions to read through before I reopen in (hopefully) a couple of weeks. I learned a lot my first time out:
Down to 50 queries! #querystatus I only requested 3/50 today, half my usual request rate, which shows how selective I'm being. I've noticed a lot of CB pitches that don't adhere to category expectations (wordcount, pacing, hooks, etc.). I may need to write a thread on CBs.
100 LEFT! #querystatus Digging deep on queries again this weekend. My list is starting to get full, so I'll be especially picky. I'm sorry in advance to everyone that'll be disappointed. I will continue to provide personalized responses as much as possible. #amagenting #askagent
