Today @JessDFuller and I spent the day with a team in govt interested in exploring how they might apply @HilaryCottam’s Radical Help approach. We drew on Hilary’s work, added bits of our own, and also used @SystemSanctuary’s panarchy loop. A truly great day. Fills me with hope.
The recording of our webinar with @CollectiveCLab about is now available. It was a powerful and deeply moving conversation - without question the most emotional I’ve ever felt in the context of a webinar. Well worth a watch (even if I say so myself…) https://t.co/ZKLusMQNnO
Collaboration across boundaries is critical for change in public service but it often fails. Is that because we've been working with a model of "collaboration in uniformity" rather than "collaboration in unity"? Effective collaboration is not about homogenising/eliminating differences, but finding higher order commonalities & working with those: https://t.co/oPCtTaxPuW By @theasnow. Special mention for @ProfDonnaHall
"In the current system, governing for change & learning becomes an extraordinary act of courage as opposed to a matter of administrative procedure. As a result the most radical reimagining happens outside of government" - Sobering from @NyadolNyuon#reimaginegov
Last night in conversation with @_AdrianBrown, @keira_lowther, @allinote and @JessDFuller and I agreed on two mantras for CPI ANZ in 2023:
(1) more twigs;
(2) people need to party
If that's not a strategic plan, I don't know what is.

This kind of approach is what I love about working at CPI. Openness. Transparency. Mutuality. We don't own these ideas. We don't own these methods and approaches, so let's actually behave like it and work together towards our goals of a government that works for everyone.
It’s been a week since we launched our Reimagining Govt community. Heaps of ppl have joined the CoP, which has been wonderful. Don’t forget you can also apply to become a Network member to access quarterly lunch & learns, an annual community meal & more! https://t.co/JeHgR6NSeS
This is going to be a great one. Even a brief wander through the materials hub associated with this webinar has transformed my browser into a plethora of tiny tab gold to be mined.
Looking forward to my first Reimagining Govt webinar as a member of team CPI! Having attended the pre-briefing for this one I know it's going to be great!
First Peoples' knowledge systems offer profound insights regarding complexity, innovation, and learning.

NZ's Public Service Act 2020 requires every govt dept to produce a Long-Term Insights Briefing every 3 years. These aim to help depts think into the future and realise their stewardship responsibility, enshrined by the Act. NZ leading by example, again...

If you can’t sell a popular policy on negative gearing (majority support at the time of the last election), when house prices are rising rapidly and the budget is in massive structural deficit, then what hope does Australia have for any difficult reform?

In my corporate life - I was conducting a workplace culture training session & an employee was doing eye-rolls & mocking the content. The boss sacked him.On the spot.But he probably could get a job with the Morrison govt 🤷🏻♀️
