Republican hypocrisy is astounding. .@MI_Republicans and @JoshuaSchriver, you can't say you want to protect our most vulnerable and then support the convicted sexual predator in our highest office, @POTUS.
We voted NO on @MI_Republicans' budget because it defunds critical services that support Michiganders. House Dems are focused on lowering costs, protecting health care & supporting kids & communities. We'll keep fighting for a final budget that puts you & your family first.
@MI_Republicans are gearing up to ram through a MI SAVE Act today; not because they care about election integrity, but because they think the answer to being unpopular with voters is to make it harder to vote.
I recently met with members from the MI. Community Health Workers Association during their advocacy day. These committed public health workers are trusted members of the health care team who act as liaisons between the communities they serve and health care providers.
Breaking News: Less than a third of voters think the U.S. is better off than it was when President Trump returned to the White House, a New York Times/Siena poll found. https://t.co/coxuPYegb1
In 2025, MI #HouseRepublicans…
🔪 Slashed $645 million in funding for kids, seniors and workers.
❌ Failed to deliver a budget on time.
🌦️ Refused to bring light to the #MiLeg via FOIA.
😬 Delivered the least productive year since the Civil War.
The best part of my job is making a difference for the families who need it most. This holiday season and beyond, my office is here to help relieve some of the burden folks are holding, from feeding our neighbors to getting relief passed in the Legislature.
Under the Trump administration, there's fewer jobs, less opportunities and an economy that works only for the rich. House Dems are fighting to bring real relief and concrete solutions to help YOU.
Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.
Michigan passed a budget that protects healthcare, funds schools, and cuts taxes for working families — avoiding a shutdown and delivering real wins.
Now, all eyes are on Washington, where dysfunction threatens everything we’ve fought for. The stakes are high, but we can’t afford to back down.
There is a lot to unpack from last week’s budget, but I wanted to take a moment to discuss the school aid budget that passed last week, and what it means for families and children in Michigan.
Just days ago, we passed Michigan’s budget, preventing a shutdown that would’ve left kids without meals & families without care.
We delivered real wins: protecting healthcare, funding schools, investing in safety, cutting taxes on tips & Social Security.
Now it’s Washington’s turn. Trump & the GOP must come to the table and explain why they want to take healthcare away from millions and raise the premiums of millions more.
Forget the spin. People will die if they get their way.
Last night was a very late night in Lansing as we finished a little after 4AM. The compromise, bipartisan budget for the next fiscal year is done. I heard from constituents almost daily for the last few weeks about how important free universal school meals were to them. 🧵 1/2
House Dems didn’t stop fighting for kids & schools until we protected what you care most about!
✅ School meals.
✅ Rural busing.
✅ Mental health & school safety.
✅ Special education & literacy.
✅ Teacher bonuses.

Rep. @AlabasFarhat on the #MiBudget: I do not see a Democrat or Republican budget. I see a budget that works for Michigan. I see a budget that represents the values each & every single one of us was elected to carry forward. #MiLeg
Last night, we took action to keep Michigan’s government open and functioning by extending the current fiscal year budget for the next 7 days.
This gives us more time to keep fighting for a final budget that truly reflects our values: strong public schools, more affordable living, and standing up to harmful policies coming from Washington.
We’re staying focused. We’re staying in the fight. And we won’t stop until we deliver for the people of Michigan.
