The fact is this govt have engineered this pandemic to serve themselves and not the nation. Tells us all we need to know about future elections. @BorisJohnson do the right thing #SackMatt and reassess your morals. @MattHancock
Did the UK government get everything right during the first wave of the pandemic? No
But has it learned from those mistakes to ensure they’re not repeated? Also no.
Ok PM, just tell us what you’re doing and why you’re doing it. Spare us the tragic details about how tough the decision has been on you or how much it pains you to have to take it. It’s not about you, cupcake.
@BorisJohnson Stay home, cripple the economy, ruin children’s prospects and their life chances, create the biggest mental health problem known to man. Nice one 🤦🏼♀️
Dr Layla McCay, NHS Confederation director, confirms to Julia that the hospital figures for "Covid patients" include patients who are not being treated for Covid but have simply tested positive while being treated for something else.
@JuliaHB1 | @LaylaMcCay
Not providing evidence and silencing those who question ridiculous decisions... how can anyone not see the insanity of all of this?! @talkRADIO @JuliaHB1
All this talk of lockdown 2021 is making me feel nostalgic for the January lockdowns of 2017 and 2018 when we had similar death rates. Looking back now, it's so hard to remember all those rules constraining our lives, isn't it? 🤷🏻♀️
*Official PHE figures on Govt website.
Paying lip service does nothing apart from anger people further. Saying 'we must prioritise education' over and over, whilst definitively not prioritising education, is a very obvious and ineffective government 'strategy'.
Schools have been closed for over 2 weeks, so shouldn’t we start seeing an improvement in case numbers very soon?
Because if not, it will be hard to justify keeping them closed beyond February.
Absolutely right. It is an utter disgrace and everyone that has supported and been a part of supporting the closure of schools should feel totally ashamed of themselves.
If we want teachers to feel safe at work, just make them wear Asda’s work uniform as it has helped to protect supermarket staff from covid throughout the pandemic.
Thank goodness for groups such as @Ts4OpenSchools @UsforThemUK and @KidsB4Covid who actually prioritise the needs of children. Come on @BorisJohnson, do this generation a favour and stand-up to this union BS! @GavinWilliamson#keepschoolsopen
Many secondary school students are at home and have access to online lessons, laptop & a supportive learning environment.
*Many don't*
Lots of kids would like to be learning but aren't able to. Every day without school pushes them further behind.
Less school, more inequality
