Point 1: Commitment to #UNSC Resolution 2803 and the Comprehensive Plan
What this means: This point defines the purpose of the entire process. The objective is not simply to preserve a ceasefire. It is to move Gaza out of a permanent cycle of war and humanitarian collapse toward recovery, reconstruction and Palestinian self-governance. It is built around restoring civilian life, rebuilding Gaza’s economy and institutions, and creating a credible pathway toward Palestinian self-determination and statehood.
Palestinians are entitled to know where this process is meant to lead. (2/16)
Possible reasons for Iran’s missile trickle rather than barrages: 1. Iran conserving its missile stocks, preparing for a long slog 2. Iran wants to leave an opening for talks 3. Much more US/Israel warplanes now in Iranian airspace than previous war so more difficult to launch
I am deeply concerned by what has taken place since Friday: Hamas armed operatives emerging from a tunnel in Rafah, Israeli strikes that tragically also killed civilians.
Such developments risk the hard-won progress under UNSCR 2803 and President Trump's 20-Point Peace Plan.
All must exercise restraint and uphold the ceasefire as the @NCAG prepares to assume civilian and security responsibilities, shifting Gaza's trajectory from violence and destruction to recovery and reconstruction.
My office and I are working closely to support the Committee and find ways that prevent future incidents. We will need everyone's full cooperation to make this possible.

According to @kann_news, the Palestinian Authority has offered to send firefighting teams to help control the fires. Israel has not yet responded to the offer.
The State Dept is planning to eliminate the office of the US Security Coordinator (USSC) in Jerusalem, which helps bolster security coordination b/n Israel & PA, a Trump official, congressional aide & 3rd source familiar told @TimesofIsrael (1/13)

If the administration does indeed eliminate the Office of the Security Coordinator, it will be a massive own-goal for no good reason. There could hardly be a worse time to be considering this 1/
Today in northern Gaza, Palestinian children at the anti-Hamas, anti-war protests gave a powerful speech:
"I am a child. I want peace........ Peace is not a weakness; it is a choice..... Let us live in love and peace."
An @IsraelPolicy4m report outlines how a cohesive international reform agenda can drive change by pairing conditional funding and credible incentives, while working to create a more enabling environment for reforms to unfold within. https://t.co/zWxVTR3hG5 /10
First, the process. The position is being filled through appointment rather than election or internal institutional vote. That undermines the legitimacy and credibility of the position from the outset. 3/
But this step above fits into an overall pattern of incremental manoeuvres aimed at signaling responsiveness without addressing the crisis of legitimacy and need for institutional renewal at the heart of Palestinian governance. This is where international pressure must be now. 9/
On the surface, this may appear to be a long-overdue institutional reform and a step toward clarifying succession planning. In reality, however, both the mechanism and the expected choice of appointee reflect deeper structural deficiencies in the Palestinian political system. 2/
Yesterday, the PLO’s Central Council ended a two-day session by voting to establish a vice-chairman role within the Executive Committee. Pres Abbas is expected to appoint Hussein al-Sheikh to the post tomorrow, a close confidant and the current Sec-Gen of the Exec Committee. 1/
