Virginian-Pilot Editorial: Gov. Glenn Youngkin and Attorney General Jason Miyares have succeeded in disenfranchising eligible Virginia voters.

“I was confused, to be honest. I was born and raised in Woodbridge, Virginia, so, you’ve got everything about me and now you’re saying that I’m an alien. Why would you let me vote before and not now?”
NEW: Election deniers are doubling down on coordinated efforts to spread disinformation to lawyers, political actors, and election officials in key states. Learn more: https://t.co/8X4CQ65sZb
Many of the Virginia voters who have been kicked off the rolls are eligible citizens. These are eligible Virginians who deserve to have their voices heard. Here's a roundup of reporting about individual voters from Lynchburg, Roanoke, Henrico, and Woodbridge.
The facts here remain simple: Virginia is keeping eligible citizens from voting by chasing conspiracy theories to score political points — a blatant attempt to deceive the American public and undermine confidence in our safe and secure elections.

BREAKING: A court just ruled that VA illegally purged eligible voters before the election. This ruling will protect eligible Virginian voters’ right to vote. Suit filed on behalf of @VA_Immigrants, @LWVVA, @africansus.

My @protctdemocracy colleague @AnnaLovesVoting is absolutely right about this. More from the two of us on *why* we’re seeing this lie over and over and over again: https://t.co/WrPIpqGYr5
My colleague @amandacarpenter has written about the "believability gap" - voters don't quite believe Trump will follow through on his authoritarian promises or retribution and revenge. Take note: these billionaire newspaper owners are under no such delusions.
On the other coast - in SoCal - the Q has been *why* billionaire owner Patrick Soon-Shiong vetoed an editorial
he has biz interests before federal regulators and may fear alienating Trump before a 2nd term.
His daughter, meanwhile, is a progressive activist who opposes Harris:
Mass challenges to Georgia’s voter rolls are frivolous and disruptive, @protctdemocracy’s @DemocracyMcGee and Clint Swift write in today’s @AJC, and recommend what makes actually sense. https://t.co/N35F1lQhJH
Wondering when we'll know who won the presidential election? (Spoiler: Not on Election Night.) My colleagues @protctdemocracy dove deep on how votes are counted and what that means for the results - read more here https://t.co/L7oul5Yq27
We should also be ready for these "zombie lawsuits" to come back to life after election day in the form of election - but they won't have any more merit then. https://t.co/Mv7loVJAOD
It's heartening to see judges making quick work of these frivolous efforts to disenfranchise voters. With voting underway and two weeks til election day, these are transparent efforts to cast doubt on election results - we shouldn't be fooled.
Lot of pre-election legal action yesterday:
- Michigan judge rejected RNC/MI GOP suit challenging how the state handles ballots from overseas/military voters, calling it an "11th hour attempt to disenfranchise" and finding election manual language consistent with federal/state law

"They're spreading as many lies as they can and picking the ones that will catch on." @emilize spoke with @USAToday about the election denier strategy behind the 100+ zombie lawsuits about ballot access that are spreading unfounded claims of fraud. https://t.co/9gEACxVkYl
The RNC is rebooting its strategy for subverting the 2020 election: Spread false narratives about election fraud, disrupt the process of counting votes and finalizing the outcome, and prepare to reject an election outcome they don't like.
NBC News obtained video of a training session in Michigan for poll watchers showing the RNC giving volunteers who echo Trump's fraud lies the tools to challenge votes — and few guardrails on what makes a challenge real.
The message: "Detroit is always going to be our tier one." https://t.co/rN78hy6KpN
How do we know that's their plan? The Jack Smith immunity memo maps almost exactly onto ongoing efforts to disrupt the election this fall https://t.co/EKDqOHz7pK
