@ThorningMichael U see OMB write the rules for that $ in apportionments like this where OMB says ICE can buy "the 10 aircraft (8 x Boeing 737 and 2 x Gulfstream G-650) that ICE previously briefed to OMB" as long as those "jets are the only jets that ICE plans to purchase" https://t.co/SNrD3lb5Nw
Reminder that the Senate can make reconciliation amendments available to the public in real time but chooses not to.
Public access to amendment text next day in the Cong. Record is not enough. A vote-a-rama where the fight over amendments is over by then makes that clear.
Seems like a good time to remind folks @NatlParkService that they cannot use federal funds for propaganda - including self aggrandizing communications like this- and breaking the law may carry personal liability for responsible officials https://t.co/s6hKDgBKSr
Instead of coming clean about freezing CMF, Vought responded by saying OMB has released the ‘25-’26 CDFI funds – the discretionary $ OMB apportioned last week – w/o addressing the Rep’s Q about when OMB is going to release CMF $ for affordable housing. https://t.co/1VLiWtdyaG
OMB has taken five separate cuts at the CDFI program. Last week, they walked back one. Four remain — and at least one may expose OMB officials to personal legal liability. Recently I explained the five cuts and how they happened
https://t.co/qB72ZRpWrT 🧵
Last week Rep. Edwards asked this pretty straightforward question about when OMB is going to unfreeze the Capital Magnet Fund, which gets money from fees outside the appropriations process. https://t.co/LExMftFklJ
@amacker@regintel2000 Even wilder — if they’re only releasing the FY25 funds then OMB is only undoing one of five cuts they’ve made to the program https://t.co/bEBJQEr4p6
Whatever else you think of this, it's only "up to the parliamentarian" because a majority of Senators have decided they'll defer to parliamentarian's advice in all cases. There are good practical reasons for that, but interpreting Byrd is ultimately Senate's job, not the parl's.
NW DC: Not all my neighbors are able-bodied or in-town. I shoveled a path the length of a city block. If you are able-bodied, get out there and help your neighbors. Otherwise the sleet will turn the snow into ice.
Imagine being a small business owner and having to madly refresh the Supreme Court website to find out if you have to continue paying higher taxes on your inputs but weeks keep going by and you still don’t have an answer.
