The RSF is welcome in Kenya, but not the Burundian street vendor. A militia that has killed and discriminated on the basis of ones ethnicity and race has the diplomatic red carpet rolled out for its leaders. Yet the scapegoat for a struggling economy is the Burundian street vendor.
As Kenya prepares for the 2027 General Elections, the Missing Voices Coalition brought together journalists for its Annual Journalists’ Training on Elections, Policing & Accountability.

VIDEO EXPLAINER: Kenya must ratify the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance, strengthen domestic accountability and ensure that every family has the right to truth and justice.
Victims First. Action Now.
On the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, we remember those who have disappeared and stand with the families who continue to search for truth.
No family should be left in uncertainty. No disappearance should be ignored.

It’s really unfathomable and in bad taste to take advantage of a mourning nation to sign into law, legislation that violates the freedom of speech and other constitutional guarantees.
The computer misuse and cybercrimes (amendment) law cannot be allowed to stand. Courts and streets must resist this attempt to muzzle free speech. Absolutely unacceptable!
🇰🇪 "We were again left stranded with nowhere else to go."
The Mathare informal settlement in Nairobi is struggling to recover from Kenya's devastating floods of 2024.

After the conclusion of 2022 General Elections Baba and his Azimio brigades went to the streets on demands for inclusion in Government ; “they” conceded . A national dialogue committee NADCO was formed and held the national dialogue sessions live on camera where Kenyans presented their opinions and suggestions .
Baba backed down; relaxed and waited , it’s now over a year; the report was neither Debated nor adopted in parliament ,it’s gathering dust in the shelves .( no wonder we are yet to constitute IEBC)
Then came Gen Zs in the struggle they aroused a national economic concern amidst protests. “They” again conceded and are planning to form a new Multisectoral committee. Allow me to call it NADCO 2.
I can attest to this ;
Any committee reports which requires action of Kenyan parliament are as a dead as a dodo !
What happened to the report of Fake fertilizer? From my experience I can conclusively say that
Parliament is heavily patronized, desecrated , defiled and lost credibility of majority of Kenyans. What do expect from a parliament which sneaks an agenda without going through the House business committee as per the standing order?
Multisectoral committee will be another theatric to buy time and scatter the already compounding voice of the disappointed youth of Kenya . It’s my opinion that this will be another round of pounding water in a pot . No matter what energy is inputted, no Ugali can come out of it .
To the Gen Zs , this is your constitutional moment , those of us before you do agree ,we were deceived, subdued and lost it ;a reason why Systems aren’t functioning right now in your favour, no wonder you are up and about greeting us in your absurd styles. My advice is ,Seize it and press for change .We are looking up to you from a far .

Mama I made it!
I occupied Parliament
Remember the #occupyParliament demonstrations?
But tell daddy I’m sorry
I won’t come home tonight
Not because I’m spending at a friends’. No!
Not because I’m among the injured.
No!
Nor because I was abducted as they have to most of us.
That would have been better
I’m in a cold dark place called the morgue Mama
I know daddy will be angry why I wore his shoes
I had to, I know they are bigger but I had to
Otherwise no one could have.
I know he will complain that I have read too much political novels
Please don’t let him blame Animal Farm,
Don’t let him blame Kidagaa Kimemwozea,
Don’t let him blame Tumbo Lisiloshiba,
Don’t let him blame Kifo Kisimani,
Don’t let him blame Mstahiki Meya,
Or Parliament of Owls
They can’t be blamed.
I did it for Our country.
They hailed us for being fearless Mama!
They called it an historic moment; actually unprecedented.
Did you watch the news?
All over the country thousands of us matched forward, wearing mostly black,
chanting slogans and singing revolutionary songs.
They call us GenZ Mama.
Some Mpigs say we have watched too much Netflix and we eat KFC.
Sorry for the spelling mistakes Mama,
I meant MPs.
Did you see how we sang ‘Kudade’ with Mc Gogo?
Did you see how Juliani turned up and we sang ‘Utawala’?
That song you call ‘Nikoo njaa siwezi karanga’?
Did you hear us sing ‘Tujiangalie’by Sauti Sol?
Have you seen King Kaka’s ‘ Wanataka Kutumaliza’?
Did you see how Mulamwah gave us Tea and Mandazi?
Have you seen all the comedians, Content creators and influencers?
I told you it will be Big Mama!
We matched forward Mama Slowly and peacefully Like you told me
We said we were peaceful
They rattled us with teargas and water canons Mama
We coughed, cried and chocked to the smoke but still matched on
We matched amidst the sting of that pink water they sprayed on us with those beastly vehicles
But nothing was more painful than hearing them pass that draconian punitive Bill Mama.
Remember how you used to forcefully give us porridge by locking us between your legs, pinching our noses then pouring a tone of porridge in our forcibly opened mouth?
Leaving us with two choices; swallowing or choking to death?
That’s what they did to us yesterday Mama
But unlike in the past, today’s child chose the latter; death!
We approached the parliament as promised.
We eventually occupied Parliament Mama
Albeit briefly.
The wall gave in and we entered.
I’m sorry I did not taste the rice
As some did Mama
All I tasted was the bullets Mama
They sprayed me with bullets Mama,
That’s why i won’t come home.
My battle is over Mama
But not the revolutionary war.
