Happy Birthday to my longtime friend & Last Laugh in Vegas co-star, @TheAnitaHarris. ππΎ
I first met Anita 61 years ago when we both starred in the BBC play Who is Mary Morison?, a light entertainment fantasia on the life of Robbie Burns & we've been friends ever since. π π
Sad to hear that we have lost Judith Chalmers, who was a family friend for years. She was very fond of me and invited me to her charity event in Portugal, where she had a house. Pictured with her husband Neil & my wife Renee at Nicholas Parsons memorial @actorschurch in 2022.
On this day 11 years ago, I attended @VarietyGB Shooting Stars Book Launch.
I'm pictured here with showbiz royalty @BrendaBlethyn and the late Cilla Black.
"Nature gifted me with a set of teeth whiter than anybody else's which, along with my confidence in my own looks and personality would ensure I would pretty much take over any social gathering." - extract from Jess Conrad: From Blitz to Glitz published by @AUK_News
I was so thrilled that Babydoll superstar Carroll Baker, who at the time was bigger than Marilyn Monroe, came over from Hollywood to co-star with me in Play of the Week Armchair Theatre The Paradise Suite. I played the bellboy who she seduced after we danced the twist together.
53 years ago on 6th May 1973 the episode of Are You Being Served where I guest starred as Mr Walpole of the Sports Dept aired on @bbc. I write about my time filming & my friendship with cast members Wendy Richard & John Inman in my autobiography From Blitz to Glitz @AUK_News
I was special guest star in Miss Marple The Body in the Library with Joan Hickson who in my opinion was the best Miss Marple and a lovely lady. My love interest was Trudie Styler, wife of Sting.
Around this time 20 years ago. I'm pictured with the much-missed Nicholas Parsons (09 April 2006) at the unveiling of a commerative plaque for our dear friend Sir John Mills at Hill House in Denham.
The whole concept of celebrity golf started with the Rat Pack. So at one point, you couldnβt be a celebrity and not play golf. Everybody did it, so I realised I had to do it; and, of course, I looked good in the gear. β³οΈποΈββοΈ
Happy Mothers Day to all mums out there. π
Boys love their mums and I certainly adored mine. When mum mum was younger, she was a South London beauty queen. Her name was Lynda. She spelt it with a 'y' as she thought it looked posher. #mothersday
