Be sure to watch Face the State with @DennisHouseTV on @WFSBnews (CBS) this Sunday morning at 8:30am!
I'll be sharing insights on: How do we retain and attract young professionals to Connecticut?
Today, I addressed 350+ business & community leaders at the @MetroHartford Annual Meeting as Chair of @HYPEHartford.
"Our greatest talent attraction + retention tool is opportunity - to grow professionally, make an impact on the community, and to develop meaningful connections."
The event included:
✅Discussions centered on the 2023 @Deloitte Global Human Capital Trends Report.
✅Exchanges between seasoned leaders + the Gen Z workforce.
✅Discussions on the complexities of attracting + retaining young talent.
✅Remarks from Hartford Mayor @MayorBronin.
Yesterday, I addressed the NextGen Summit as Chair of @HYPEHartford.
"We find the greatest attraction + retention tool for young talent is opportunity. Opportunity to grow professionally, develop meaningful connections, & the opportunity to make an impact on their communities."
Affirmative action was never a complete answer in the drive towards a more just society. But for generations of students who had been systematically excluded from most of America’s key institutions—it gave us the chance to show we more than deserved a seat at the table.
In the wake of the Supreme Court’s recent decision, it’s time to redouble our efforts.

We should be concerned that the Saudis, who have a clear interest in repressing political speech and impacting U.S. politics, are now the second-largest owner of a major social media platform.
There is a clear national security issue at stake and CFIUS should do a review.
Young professionals have good reasons to move to Connecticut — high paying job opportunities, great quality of life, and affordability compared to New York and Boston with ease in getting to and from the cities. I think these folks are here and sticking around for good.
As we embark towards an all-digital government, digitizing state gov docs is two-fold (pun intended):
1. Digitize + organize existing docs to enhance accessibility of information.
2. Modernize processes + services to become less reliant on paper.

Theodore Roosevelt was first American President to ride publicly in a car, 120 years ago today, Hartford, Connecticut.
And the car (Columbia Victoria Phaeton) was electric.
