@BeeTEE15 A short guy stole his high school girlfriend and we’ve been taking the brunt of his unresolved feelings for 7 years now. Cole Caufield can’t hurt you! Zeev Buium didn’t do it! Ryan Lin is just a kid!
The team that just won the cup is being aggressive to improve
The Flyers who were just swept by said cup winner are interested in seeing if the guys they already have can take a step before making a move, and overvaluing the players that they do have to trade
Yes, the Flyers are interested in Werenski. So are a dozen other teams. What could the Flyers offer? Hypothetically, let's say Tippett, York and Toronto's 1st rounder in 2027. Does that get it done?
If Dallas, for example, is building an offer around, say, Thomas Harley. The answer is probably no.
As we gear up for Day 2, some talk over Darnell Nurse. Anaheim, which isn’t on his list, is now being considered. Philly remains an option, as well.
Also on D market:
- some clubs talking to Ducks about acquiring John Carlson’s rights
- Isles have had teams ask about Romanov
Brent Flahr needs to have something to show to justify him still being here and having so much sway in the room. His debut was passing on Cole Caufield, and it’s 7 years later and he still has license to pass on players to take guys that have/will not become difference makers

The Flyers love drafting young-for-the-draft players and projects with their high value picks (sans 94 and 39) and the problem with that strategy is it takes longer to convey if that strategy works, or see you’re misidentifying players because they take longer to develop
Buium, Lin, Novotny, Bleyl, Helenius, Cootes, Eklund, Aitcheson all will be measuring sticks of guys with clear consensus value that the Flyers for whatever reason think they’re smarter than the rest of the league for passing on.
Yzerman took Cossa over Wallstedt even though Wallstedt was the consensus #1 goalie in that draft.
Then the Wings didn’t like Cossa’a style and totally broke it down and rebuilt it and then they still didn’t like the result.
The guy never started a game in Detroit. Just a total failure by the organization on all levels.
