Any while I have said it before, plagiarism is THE cardinal sin in writing, for good reason. Because you're NOT coming up with something yourself, that YOU created.
Why do I not hear a peep about writers using AI to "help" them write, IE basically writing for them? Same thing.
People who have no innate creativity, strong imagination, and natural storytelling ability, thinking that using AI helps "level the playing field", and puts them on par with creative, talented writers? Absolute BS.
AI has zero creativity, nuance, or storytelling ability either
I'm always looking to connect to more people on @Letterboxd (or hell, trying to get new people to join the site to connect with me). Here is my list of my Top 100 Favorite Films of all time. Cheers!

For #ThrowbackThursday, here is the 20th Anniversary piece I wrote on THE best pro #wrestling company that the 21st Century ever knew, #Chikara Pro. You never should have closed, and I'll always miss you.

It's been awhile, but here's a new piece I wrote, on the majestic #Queen epic "The Prophet's Song", a deep cut that more people need to know and experience. #Music#Rock#Flood#BrianMay#FreddieMercury#70s

If you are an author (or publisher), and you use AI to generate "art" for your books and promo material? You are an asshole. You are literally stealing work from deserving and talented HUMAN artists. And you are in no way a supporter of the arts. #BeBetter#KeepAIOutOfArt#NoAI

And on a related note, as a writer, and a friend to artists, I support are, from ACTUAL human artists. Not AI generated garbage. AI generated art has no place in the arts, and it has no place in the literary industry.
If you're a writer, or a publisher, hire ARTISTS, not AI.
As a writer myself, it boggles my mind that plagiarism is like THE cardinal sin of the industry. But somehow having a computer program "help" you write, or straight up write for you.....is ok?
AI shouldn't be tolerated in the arts, period.

I keep hearing people say "AI taking over jobs is inevitable". Nothing is inevitable, unless we LET it be. And especially The Arts, the ONE business based purely on human expression, human imagination, emotion, experience. AI has NO place in the arts, and we shouldn't let it.
Saw an ad on Facebook yesterday. Said "get paid for Book Reviews!". They'll pay you to leave ONLY positive reviews of books they tell you to, and literally even say "you don't even have to read the books or have any interest in them!".
The industry is currently in the shitter.
In fact, to be perfectly blunt, I think it's a dishonest an immoral practice. Hiring someone else to write "your" book, and then pretending to all the world that YOU wrote it. Call me crazy, but that shouldn't be allowed, and is still a form of plagiarism.
There seem to be a lot of ghostwriting jobs out there. And as someone looking for work, it certainly catches my eye. BUT, while I don't think I'd care as much about non-fiction, being paid to write someone's FICTION novel, and them take credit for it? Doesn't sit well at all.
