I don’t know if I’ve ever seen somebody get a standing ovation for allowing a run.
Cristopher Sanchez smiles as his streak ends. What a moment for the lefty. He’s in baseball history forever.
Two more hits today for Phillies 17-year old prospect Francisco Renteria. He singled at 105.8 mph up the middle in the third, and tripled to the right-center gap at 102.6 mph in the ninth. I got him at 11.92 seconds first to third despite pulling up going into third
Millersville University RHP Joey Morrissey continues to dominate this spring.
47.1 IP
30 H
16 BB
57 K
0.95 ERA
A power arm that continues to miss barrels and compete every time out. Any pro organization should be keeping an eye on the way Joey is attacking hitters and producing results.

The Phillies were out doing bunt-specific drills in the middle of batting practice today.
Don Mattingly said he and the coaching staff want to mix in more bunting, PFP, and fundamental drills “more semi-regularly” than they were already doing.
North Carolina’s Ryan Lynch was surgical vs Cal, 8IP, 7K. Only blemish was a 2-HR to FR SS Jett Kenady (who is starting to catch my attention).
Held 94-97 at 2500 & up to 23” run. Didn’t go to the SL a lot, but was effective at around 84/2800.
More on him later this week too.
Bryson Stott:
- hit .307 with an .864 OPS in August
- hit .313 with an .896 OPS in Sept/Oct
- hitting .391 with a 1.196 OPS this spring
All after a mechanical adjustment at the plate. I don’t think this is an illusion.
