My rock for the quarter at @paintergrowth as COO is to Eat Our Own Dog Food after reading your book. My business partner made it into this video 😂
"I can't afford it" is almost never true.
It's "I'm choosing not to afford it right now."
Those are completely different sentences.
One makes you a victim.
The other makes you the CEO of your own decisions.
Watch the language.
It's running your life.
The breathwork stopped feeling like a demolition.
That's not a bad sign. That's the next level.
Early on you ripped wide open. Crying. What the hell was that.
Now?
Quiet. Still. Clear.
You've cleared the clutter.
You're not clearing anymore. You're creating.
Most people know Painter Growth for the systems, sales training, and business coaching we provide.
What almost no one sees is the inner work that happens behind the scenes with the founders we support.
Today I want to share a window into that.
Earlier this year, from January to April, I ran a private program called the Intuition Accelerator. It was built for a small group of painting business owners who were ready to look deeper than numbers or tactics and actually understand themselves. Their patterns. Their fears. Their leadership. The part of the business that no spreadsheet can show you.
One of the people in that group was James Mitchell.
Last year his business did $179k.
This year he is trending toward $1M.
And yes, he worked hard. Yes, he applied the business strategies. But what actually unlocked this level of growth was the inner work he was willing to do. Clearing old stories. Releasing pressure. Learning to trust himself. Leading from a grounded and aligned place instead of stress.
After the Accelerator, he continued with me inside a private monthly container called the Intuitive Advantage. And the growth didn’t slow down. It expanded in his business, his confidence, and his personal life.
This is the part of coaching most people never hear about.
But it is the part that changes everything.
We haven’t opened this container since last December. It has stayed small on purpose. It only works when the people inside are ready for honest, deep work.
We are planning to reopen it in a new way in 2026.
If you want to understand what this deeper work actually looks like, here’s a podcast conversation between James and me. He shares openly about his journey, and I’m grateful he was willing to talk about something most people keep private.

And James… thank you. Your willingness to go inward and tell the truth about your process is exactly why your life and business look so different today.
More to come.
Did this thing today: guided 22 founders through activating the third eye chakra. 👁️
We explored intuitive decision-making in business.
Here are 5 lessons I learned in 2 hours:
1. Intuition > analysis when aligned with truth.
2. You can’t fake energetic fit in partnerships.
3. Alignment creates flow - misalignment creates friction.
4. Trust your first knowing, then verify facts.
5. When your soul leads, business feels effortless.
Hope that’s helpful.
Saw Michael Brennan play a few weeks ago at the Fortinet Championship, his ball flight and the way he carried himself just looked different.
Told my buddy he’d win on the @PGATOUR next year.
I was wrong… he won this year.
We placed a bet as soon as we saw he was in the field this week and it hit 💰

“Where’s the money going?”
That’s what Matt asked me.
He’d just finished another $25K week in sales.
And still hadn’t paid himself a dime.
🧵 A story about job costing and the silent killer in most painting businesses 👇
5/10 So we made one simple change:
We started tracking job margins every Friday.
Nothing fancy.
Just:
✅ Budgeted hours
✅ Actual hours
✅ Materials
✅ Final margin
4/10 We pulled up 5 jobs from last month.
Every single one looked profitable on paper.
But in reality?
One had a 17% margin.
Another lost money.
He was bleeding ...slowly
3/10 He quoted based on gut feel.
Rounded up.
Threw in a little extra “just in case.”
But without tracking actual labor hours or material costs...
He was guessing.
1/10 Matt wasn’t lazy.
He was out there selling jobs, managing crews, juggling estimates.
He even had a backlog.
But every Friday, he’d check the bank account... and feel sick.
Where was it all going?
