Life update: About a year and a half ago I decided I wanted to make more friends since moving to Boston so I went out to a bar to play pool. After a couple nights at this bar I made some friends and a couple weeks later I got asked to join a pool league team. I had never thought of playing in a league but was excited to try it out.
In our first season as a team we came close to winning our division which was awesome and next season I was offered a role as captain of the team.
Second season we ended up winning our division and got an invite to a tournament that could send us to Las Vegas if we won.
June comes around and we won the Vegas qualifier! Some teams play league for 20 years and never get this far so I was stoked to go. Around this time I got word that our league owner was looking to sell his business so I gave him a call.
Our team went to Vegas a month ago and placed top 65 nationally and brought home $1,500 in prize money. Additionally, after bidding and applying to buy the league Inwas approved!
Today Im proud to announce I have finished a week long training and take over my league as the (current) youngest league operator in the country on Tuesday.
Go out and do what you love and maybe (just maybe) you get the opportunity to love what you do. The journey is just starting but I can’t wait for what the future has in store.
